$50 Million Venture Fund for Senior Healthcare Solutions Launched by Solera Senior Living’s CEO

According to BusinessDen, Solera Senior Living’s top executive, Adam Kaplan, launched a venture fund of nearly $50 billion to endorse developing high-tech healthcare solutions for seniors.

This significant investment is prompted by the lack of solutions to address the growing needs of the aging population. It is expected to improve proactive and preventive care and make healthcare services more effective and accessible.

Senior healthcare is at risk

As Adam Kaplan outlines, the lack of investment in the healthcare technological industry is a challenge that’s not easy to overcome. Other investors from Equitage Venture are also concerned, highlighting that society won’t be able to care for older adults without investing in health-based technological developments.

As Kaplan also indicated, investors tend to favor services and products for younger generations because they are more profitable in the long run. As a result, the senior health technology industry is less attractive, making it more difficult to find investors.

The $50 million fund targets startups focused on the health sector, especially those connected with senior mental and behavioral health, caregiving support, and living facility operations.

Seniors, caregivers, and families should stay alert

With new investments in healthcare for seniors, it’s fundamental for caregivers and families to be up to speed on the best tools available. This is even more crucial for equipment designed to help in emergencies like medical alert systems.

There are many solutions available, and all offer both the senior and caregiver the peace of mind needed to go on with their lives without worrying about possible dangers. Currently, these systems include emergency buttons, fall detection, fast connection to multilingual 24/7 emergency response teams, mobile options, medical monitoring, fire alarms, and even connection with nursing home systems.

While the gears of new advancements in the healthcare industry start to spin, we highly recommend that seniors and caregivers look into medical alert devices. For older adults living alone, we especially recommend following a few tips to minimize the risk of having an emergency.
