SurveyMonkey supports multiple languages.

However, you’ll have to translate the survey line by line by exporting, translating it locally on your device, and importing it back to the platform through a CSV file.

Multilingual support is always welcome, but by now, we expected SurveyMonkey to translate everything automatically and allow us to proofread and ensure everything’s good to go.

Even if that’s not supported, we should, at the very least, be able to translate surveys directly from the app without requiring downloading and importing files.

Even so, respondents can choose their preferred language and take a survey anonymously to protect their personal information.

For surveys where respondents’ private information is essential, all data is securely stored in SurveyMonkey's compliant SOC 2 data center and encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.

The company’s adherence to core data compliance requirements, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001, provides additional peace of mind regarding privacy.

SurveyMonkey's question bank is a much-appreciated assistance for building surveys, primarily for those creating one for the first time. The library contains many preset questions divided into categories vetted by methodologists to guarantee readability, reliability, and impartiality.

We especially loved how SurveyMonkey provides suggestions of the best question types to use while you’re typing the question.

Additionally, people can create their own question library, making personalized questions accessible to everyone in the team.

There’s a lot of customization for advanced branching, as well. Skip logic and randomization (great for minimizing order bias and improving data quality) are some examples that can be easily set for each question or page of the survey.

Our favorite feature is the AI survey builder – with a simple prompt, you can generate a comprehensive survey in seconds.

Those who prefer the traditional way can choose among the extensive list of 400 expert-built templates categorized into subjects with premade questions.

SurveyMonkey also recognizes the importance of brand identity, so adding your logo to the survey header and changing fonts, colors, and layout takes only a few steps. If you don’t want to spend too much time on the survey’s design, you can generate a theme based on an uploaded logo.

Once we had our layout and questions all set, we were happy to see that it was possible to preview the final result from the respondent’s perspective before sending it for all types of screens (computer, tablet, and phone).

SurveyMonkey also leverages AI technology to help you choose what answer type to select with Answer Genius. For example, imagine you want to add a multiple-choice question where people can choose between colors. Answer Genius will suggest colors to add there, so you don’t have to type the answers manually.

It’s a great addition to the software, but we hope it’s expanded to other languages than English in the near future.

Sending surveys to potential respondents is as straightforward as it could be.

The survey software lets users send surveys via email, shareable link, SMS, or embed it into their website or mobile app.

In contrast with some competitors like Typeform, SurveyMonkey's Kiosk option includes an offline mode and strong security tools – excellent for surveying people during an event.

Another highlight is SurveyMonkey Audience, which lets users buy responses using the target audience collector. This paid service sends surveys to people who match SurveyMonkey's global panel criteria.

With a panel of over 335 million respondents across more than 130 countries, SurveyMonkey is an excellent choice for users who have yet to collect or fine-tune their respondent pool.

One curious fact that we’d like to highlight is how SurveyMonkey grows its audience of survey participants by donating 50 cents to any charity of their choice for every answered survey. This approach sparks two positive outcomes: audience reliability and humanitarian support.

Managing surveys with SurveyMonkey is a piece of cake, as the platform’s interface is intuitive and user-friendly.

The drag-and-drop builder is also well-thought-out, allowing users to place questions, new pages, images, and additional text exactly where they want without hassle.

To top it off, all tools have explanations attached (some with links to guides) so you never feel out of your depth.

For us, the only downside is that you can’t bulk delete surveys, but that’s a small drop in the bucket.

SurveyMonkey is only available from a web browser on computers.

However, there’s a mobile app for Android and iOS, which is perfect for creating, managing, and analyzing surveys on the go. Although its design differs slightly from the web version, most features run just as smoothly.

We found it really easy to create and edit surveys from the mobile app. Even the impressive number of templates is categorized and displayed clearly, making it effortless to find the one that suits your needs from a smaller screen.

SurveyMonkey offers over 200 integrations.

Integrating SurveyMonkey with CRM platforms is excellent for getting feedback from respondents while using a product, as the collected survey data is automatically synced back to the CRM system for analysis.

Integrations with communication platforms like Microsoft Teams are also convenient for sending surveys and collecting feedback directly inside the platform – excellent for internal surveys.

Additionally, connecting SurveyMonkey with Zapier expands the number of integrations to the hundreds.

Compared to the competition, SurveyMonkey prices are in the mid-to-upper range – especially when you’re looking to move beyond basic needs.

The company structures its pricing between individuals and teams.

Users flying solo have four plans:

• Basic, which is free. It supports 10 questions, up to 25 responses per survey, and 40 templates, making it an excellent choice for people looking to run small-scale surveys.
• Standard, which is the only monthly option at $99 per month. It offers unlimited surveys, 1,000 responses per month, text analysis, and more.
• Advantage, which starts at $39 per month. It comes with built-in payment support, 15 times the number of responses per year supported (15,000), unlimited surveys and questions, Kiosk mode, premium themes, and sentiment analysis.
• Premier, at $139 per month. It extends the number of supported responses to 40,000 per year and adds advanced survey logic, multilingual surveys, and crosstabs.

Subscriptions start at $30 per user per month for teams and require at least three users.

Team Advantage, the cheapest option, includes all collaboration and team management features plus 50,000 yearly responses, AI analysis, data trends, response management, and unlimited API access.

At $92 per month per user, Team Premier brings even more to the table, and Enterprise is the ultimate subscription that is quote-based.

If you go over the quota, you’ll be charged $0.15 per additional response.

There are plenty of ways to save money on SurveyMonkey.

Our experience with the live chat couldn’t be better. It started with a bot that triaged our query and then connected us with a customer support agent in less than a minute.
